America, Germany, and France consume more coffee per person than any other country in the world. Americans love their coffee hot, strong, black, sometimes sweet, and occasionally with cream. In 1960s, when I came to United States, every home had a stove-top coffee percolator. Now, the coffee percolator has been replaced with electric coffee makers. The coffee is roasted to medium brown, ground is optimized for use with electric coffee makers and sold in almost all the grocery stores. The manufactures recommend 1 level Tablespoon of coffee per 8 ounce of water (Cup).
Some homes have espresso coffee maker. For this you must buy 'Double roast' almost black and ground finer than the one used for electric coffee makers.
The coffee is consumed within 20 minutes from brewing for best flavor.
