Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus)
It is used primarily used a reproductive tonic for female: help regulate menstruation frequency and control
excessive bleeding, prevent miscarriage, help with conception, and strengthen urinary tract
The plant grows at mountains of Himalaya near an altitude of approximately 4,000 feet. The roots are formed
like a cluster of fingers (tubes) about 18" in length. The roots are harvested dried and powdered to be used
for medicinal purposes

Internal Medicine
- Treat burning sensation during urination, It is Diuretic
- For women treat miscarriages, excessive menstrual flow, increase production of breast milk for nursing,
treat menopause symptoms such as hot flashes and irritability. Increase fertility, regulate hormonal balance,
anti-Candida.
- For men improve sperm quality and count
- Help dry cough, sore throat
- Help heartburn, sour stomach, and peptic ulcers
Topical Use
- Paste of leaves and root is applied to alleviate burning sensation from smallpox
- A massage is prepared with Ghee and ground up leaves and roots. It helps t o relieve joint pain
