Bhumyamalaki (Phyllanthus Niruri)

In Ayurveda all parts of this shrub are used as medicine, specially relating to Urinary tract.
The leaf of this plant resembles the leaf of Amla. Therefore, it is called Bhumy (Ground)-Amalaki (Amla), meaning Amla grown close to ground.

Rasa: Bitter Astringent Sweet

Vipaka: Sweet
Guna: Light dry rough
Dosha: Balances or decreases Kapha and Pitta. May aggravate or increase Vata.

 

Uses

- Treat heartburn, and peptic ulcers

- Treat gynecological diseases: Urinary Tract Infection, Menorrhagia, and Leucorrhea
- Treat skin disorders caused by liver malfunction
- Increase blood red cell count. Treat Anemia
- Stimulates liver. Treat Hepatitus 'B'
