Bhaira (Bibhitaki) Terminalia bellirica
Large deciduous grows in India. The dried mature fruit was first mentioned in Charaka Samhita for medicinal
use.
When young the fruit of the tree is fully inflated with green color. As the fruit matures it becomes yellowish
and the skin becomes shriveled. It has a large pit.
It is one of three active ingredients in the most popular Ayurveda formula called Triphala
