Bread Upma RecipeWe will make this dish using slicing bread. I will use whole-grain bread slices.
Ingredients1. Whole grain bread: 10 slices 2. Canola oil: 3 Tablespoons 3. Brown Mustard Seeds: 1 teaspoon 4. Onion: ¾ cup, peeled finely chopped 5. Salt: ¼ teaspoon or to taste 6. Frozen Peas: 1 cup 8. Cashews split: ¼ cup 9. Lime Juice: ¼ teaspoon 10. Sugar: 2 teaspoons 11. Hot Water ¼ cup Method1. Toast the bread slices to just brown. Do not butter the bread. Tear each slice into about 8 to 10 pieces. Set aside 2. Heat Ghee in a heavy bottom pan. Add mustard seeds cook till they start to sputter about 2 minutes. 3. Add onions, and salt, sauté the onion till the edges start to turn brown. 7. Add bread pieces. Toss around. Turn off heat 8 . Cover and let the bread absorb all the juices.
